Colombia’s ecological and cultural diversity may be admired in its entire splendor in the areas of the national natural parks system. Tourism projects revolve around the parks for the purpose of allowing Colombians and foreigners to enjoy a variety of environments – snow-capped mountains, volcanoes, jungles, for instance – through monitored activities that exert a minimum impact on natural ecosystems, respect the cultural heritage, and educate and sensitize visitors and inhabitants on the importance of preserving nature.
