Nariño

In the Department of Nariño in south-west Colombia we find the Laguna de La Cocha, a lake on whose shores there is one of the most picturesque little ports in Colombia - El Puerto.

Lake Guamuez, also locally known as "Laguna de la Cocha", is a haven of peace, stunning scenery and relaxation, only 27km outside Pasto.

This is a Catholic church and shrine of Nuestra Señora de las Lajas. The church is built of gray and white stone copied from in the gothic style of the 14th century, in the rural district of Las Lajas 7km from the town of Ipiales, Department of Nariño.
