In the Guacarí Rectory, built in the eighteenth century and deemed a National Monument, you can follow in Simón Bolívar’s footsteps. The Libertador slept here on his way south on January 11, 1822 and on his return from the emancipatory campaign in Ecuador and Peru on December 26, 1829. The Rectory contains a religious museum and is surrounded by well-manicured gardens.
