Visitors to Buga don’t have to travel far to ride a jet ski, windsurf, kitesurf, or sunfish. Lake Calima, a reservoir where strong winds blow constantly, is only an hour west of the city. The reservoir was completed in 1966 in order to generate power for the region, and the area subsequently became a tourist attraction.
