Don Joaquin de Mier’s House, designed in an evident colonial style, was built in the late 17th century by Manuel Faustino Mier y Teherán. It was occupied by himself, his wife and son Joaquin de Mier y Benitez. The latter would then host Simon Bolivar at his hacienda, Floresta de San Pedro Alejandrino.
