Proclamation Square

On this site in the walled city of Cartagena on November 11, 1811, the people gathered to support the Declaration of Independence, and since then it has been called Proclamation Square. A striking statue of Pope John Paul II is located in the corner of Proclamation Square and Archbishop Street.

This city is an open-air museum, but has more than just culture and history to offer. Cartagena is also a traveler destination for beaches, water sports, and crafts, among other things.
