A swampy area with abundant birdlife, the Dique Canal is located near large tracts of land planted with oil palm, rice, and food crops. The channel connects Cartagena with the Magdalena (Calamar) river. Visitors can also go by water to cities like Zambrano, Plato (Magdalena), Magangué, Mompox, and El Banco (Magdalena).
