Adolfo Mejía Theatre

Built in the style of 18th and 19th century European opera houses, the Teatro Heredia officially known as Teatro Adolfo Mejia was built in a horseshoe shape, with boxes and balconies divided by cedar lace-like lattices. It was built on the grounds of the old Merced church and was inaugurated in 1911 with the Floral Games. Inside, there are stairs and sculptures made of Italian marble.

This city is an open-air museum, but has more than just culture and history to offer. Cartagena is also a traveler destination for beaches, water sports, and crafts, among other things.
