The Great Colombian Tomato Fight Is a festival which pays homage to agriculture held in the middle of the year in, a town 20 minutes by road to the west of the Villa de Leyva. Inspired by similar event held Buñol (Spain) during the festival thousands of revellers engager in an enormous tomato throwing fight. There are also handicrafts shows and contests relating to tomatoes.
