You are here

The joy of Christmas invades Salamina at the beginning of December when they celebrate the Night of Fire, a holiday that was created in 2001 in honour of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, patroness of the town. During this event the streets are adorned with colourful lanterns and a competition between the inhabitants for the best lighting is held.

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES

Admiring the architecture of the houses of Salamina and learning about the culture of coffee haciendas where you learn about the cultivation and production of grain are plans in this Caldas town.
