The Monument to the Colonists is an icon of Manizales that stands on Avenida October 12th in Chipre. Guillermo Vallejo created the sculpture to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the city, using keys and copper wires donated in the late twentieth century. The monument lists the settlers who came here in the mid-nineteenth century.
