Walking the Navarro Bridge and crossing the border between the departments of Tolima and Cundinamarca is a plan you can’t miss. This structure was built between 1894 and 1899 in order to join Honda in Guaduas (Cundinamarca), as this was the key location for transportation between the interior of the New Kingdom of Granada and Cartagena de Indias. This was the first bridge made with iron and anchored bases in South America.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES
Walk down the Calle de las Trampas and cross the Navarro Bridge in Honda; and follow the tracks of the Botanical Expedition of José Celestino Mutis in the neighboring areas of Mariquita and Ambalema are some plans to keep in mind.
