The church of San Francisco is the legacy left by the Minor Friars, who came to Bogotá in 1550, in what was then called the Kingdom of New Granada. The construction of this temple, located just steps from the TransMilenio and the Gold Museum, was completed in 1611. The church’s main altar dates from the seventeenth century.
