WHY LIVE THIS EXPERIENCE IN COLOMBIA?
The Las Lajas Sanctuary, a Gothic church commonly referred to as “a miracle of God in the abyss,” is a jewel of engineering built in the Guáitara river canyon near Ipiales. Legend has it that María Mueses, a native woman, and her daughter Rosa saw the image of the Virgin here in 1754. This church is visited by pilgrims from all over the world, especially on Sundays.
The Las Lajas Sanctuary was declared the second wonder of Colombia in 2007.
The Las Lajas Sanctuary is built in the Gothic style.
Three-hundred and twenty-eight feet separate the edge of the Guáitara River and the tip of the Las Lajas Sanctuary.
