The country is home to 4,010 species of orchids, 262 palms, 1,721 mosses, 1,641 ferns, and 53 kinds of non-flowering plants.

As for vertebrates, Colombia is home to 479 mammal, 571 reptile, 763 amphibian, 2,000 saltwater, and 1,533 freshwater fish species.
