The colonial history of Villa de Nuestra Señora de Santa María de Leyva can be seen with every step you take strolling down its stone streets. Among its architectural attractions we find that the main square, which measures 14,000 m² and is home to Our Lady of the Rosary of the Villa De Leyva Church, and the house where the hero of independence Antonio Nariño died.

The other Labour was founded on 12 June 1572 and declared a National Monument in 1954.
