La Candelaria's Most Colorful Street

Calle 10, between City Hall and Carrera 10 may just be La Candelaria's and even Bogotá's most colorful block, with its sidewalk vendors, elegant (if decayed) historic buildings and small shops offering everything from esoterica to clothes to a cheap lunch.

Sundays in Pance


Though Cali is justifiably famous for its nightlife and salsa clubs, weekend days in Cali are noticeably more tranquil. Come Saturday and Sunday afternoon, it can seem like everybody is either at their mother’s house for lunch or at the mall, shopping (Cali’s second favorite pastime after dancing)— and many of them are.  A very large amount, however, are likely to be found down at the Pance River (El Rio Pance), in the southern part of the city.

Who doesn’t want to follow the in Simon Bolivar’s footsteps along the Ruta Libertador, kayak in the Magdalena River, ride the brujita to San Cipriano, stargaze in the Tatacoa desert or watch Falcao scoring goals in the Campin in Bogota? I put this to you? There’s too much on offer in Colombia.

Colombia's UNESCO Heritage Sites


The National Museum, in Bogotá, is holding a colorful exhibition about Colombia's 14 UNESCO World Heritage sites, which include both cultural and natural phenomena. These include very concrete things, such as the Coffee Region and carnaval parades, as well as immaterial phenomena such as music and indigenous peoples' traditional knowledge.
