This is Afro-Colombian Week, celebrating the culture of Colombians of African origin, who make up perhaps 20% of Colombia's population.
The celebrations include food, music and handicrafts near the Las Aguas TransMilenio station, as well as events at the Gaitan Theatre on Ave. Septima.
Afro-Colombians are disproportionately poor and concentrated along Colombia's Pacific and Caribbean coasts.
Afro-Colombian treats, including rice, meat and shrimp.
Take in a show at the Jorge Eliecer Gaitan Theatre on Ave. Septima.
