Although I have become a bit of a globetrotter, I am still southern girl at heart, originally from Hueytown, Alabama, USA.

Before moving to Colombia, I volunteered in Mexico and Panama, earned my M.A. in England and traveled around Europe. I officially made Barranquilla, Colombia my "home" in October 2011 when I accepted a job as an English professor at la Universidad del Norte where I continue to teach.

When not working, I enjoy a good cup of tea, a day at the beach, spending time with my partner and two cats, blogging, reading travel journals/travel writing, and traveling any and every chance I get, both in and outside Colombia.
