Cartagena de Indias is the capital of the department of Bolívar. The city is located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea and is one of Colombia's most important tourist centers, as well as the second most important urban area on the Colombian Caribbean coast. Cartagena's climate is warm, breezy and generally has an average humidity of 90%.

Declared a World Historical and Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984, Cartagena adds to the charm of its colonial, republic and modern architecture, with its bustling nightlife, internationally prestigious cultural festivals, exquisite landscapes, magnificent beaches, excellent cuisine and a hotel and tourist infrastructure for every taste and budget. Cartagena is the jewel of the Colombian Caribbean.
