Built from chuff brick, it guards valuable works of religious art
A tour of the historic center could start at the Catedral Basílica Metropolitana. The construction of this cathedral, the world’s largest brick building, began in 1875 and concluded in 1930.
Founded in 1675 by Francisco Herrera Campuzano in the Aburrá Valley. The tour can go on to the following interesting sites: the Coltejer building, a symbol of the city’s textile industry; the San José church; the San Ignacio building; the auditorium at the Universidad de Antioquia; the Parque de Berrío, the main square in the city; the Parque Biblioteca La Ladera; the Parque de San Antonio; the Parque Bolívar; the Teatro Pablo Tobón Uribe; and the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
