Medellín Tour: Administrative and Business Area

The offices of the departmental and city governments, the departmental public enterprises, and the tax administration are located at La Alpujarra administrative center.

A tour through the administrative and business section includes a visit to La Alpujarra, the complex where the municipal and departmental governments operate. The tour goes on to an area that underwent a notable urban transformation in recent years thanks to a strong boost by the government and the public utilities company of the city.

The following are among the most interesting places: the “intelligent building” of the Empresas Públicas de Medellín (city public utilities company); the Parque de los Pies Descalzos (bare feet park); the EPM interactive Museum; the Centro de Convenciones y Exposiciones Plaza Mayor; the Teatro Metropolitano de Medellín; the old Antioquia railway station, which has been completely restored; the traditional Plaza de Cisneros, now called the Plaza de la Luz on account of its 300 lamp posts; and the EPM public library.
