Metro de Medellín

Medellín has the only metro system in Colombia

  • Metro: Medellín has the only metro system in the country. It moves over 400,000 passengers a day along the two routes. Line A runs through the Aburrá Valley in a north-south direction; Line B runs in an east-west direction.
  • Metrocable: An aerial cable car mass transportation system; it is unique in the world in that it complements a city metro system. A Metrocable ticket includes a trip on the regular metro.
  • Metroplus: This system is under construction and will be integrated into the metro system. It will make 21 predetermined stops and move 164,000 passengers a day.
  • Buses: A public bus system serves the entire city.
