How to get there to Nuquí

Nuquí is a rural district of El Chocó which is blessed by land and sea. It lies south of Bahía Solano and Utría Bay in the Gula of Tribugá, bathed by several rivers that flow into the Pacific.

The plethora of rivers, the density of the vegetation and the marshy terrain make it impossible to reach the town by land. Most of the rivers rise in the hills of El Chocó, and there are some superb waterfalls there.

• By air: Nuquí has an airport (Reyes Murillo) which receives light aircraft of ADA and Satena from Medellin. The flight takes 50 minutes. The same airlines also fly from Quibdó, from where it takes 15 minutes.
• By land from the interior: impossible. There is access along the shore from nearby villages.
• By water: There is no access by river: but small craft sail up the coast from Buenaventura: this takes 8 hours. And it is 2 hours by launch from Bahía Solano.
