This is the most frequent mode of travel towards the center of the country, mainly to Medellín, Quibdó, Bogotá, and Cali. Airlines are SATENA and ADA. Private airplanes belonging to small companies provide charter flights. Although there are established flight frequencies and routes, airlines modify them to adapt to demand and the time of year.
The municipality of Bahía Solano provides air service through the José Celestino Mutis Regional Airport, which is operated by Aerocivil (the government civil aeronautics entity) and managed by the Mayoralty. Its runway has the capacity for light planes, maximum ATR or Fokker types, and measures 950 by 12 meters.
Access by sea is from Buenaventura, the port that supplies Bahía Solano with consumer products, food, hardware, etc. The trip takes 12 hours by speedboat or 24 by marine transport services.
Within the municipality, various private services provide transportation in speedboats to any location in the region.
