Bahía Solano is also known as “Ciudad Mutis” (Mutis City). It is located on the Gulf of Cupica on the Pacific Coast, at 178 km from the capital of the department, Quibdó. It lies on a narrow beach between the Baudó Mountain Range and the ocean. Its main attractions are fishing and watching humpback whales and migratory birds. Mecana, Huina, Chirichiri, and El Almejal are some of the beaches in the area.
