Climate: There is a wide variety of temperature ranges from warm, at m. asl on the banks of the Cauca, up to the icy snow-capped peaks. Manizales (18ºC - 64ºF) has a cold climate while Pereira (21ºC – 69ºF) and Armenia (20ºC – 68ºF) are mainly temperate.
Altitude: 900 - 2,150 m. asl
Location: Is in west central Colombia and forms part of the Andean RegionThe Coffee Triangle.
Borders: North, Department of Antioquia; south, Tolima and Valle del Cauca; east, Tolima, Cundinamarca and Boyacá; west, Valle del Cauca and Chocó.
