Fairs and Festivities in Boyacá

Boyacá has as many festivities as it has municipalities and districts. Here is a short list of the most outstanding fairs and festivities:

• January: Summer Festival in Moniquirá, Duitama Carnivals.
• Agosto: Festival de Cometas de Villa de Leyva.
• September: National Band Contest in Paipa, Culture Festival in Tunja.
• December: Festival of the Lights in Villa de Leyva, Aguinaldo Boyacense (Xmas celebrations) in Tunja, Fairs and Feasts of Sweets and Bocadillos (guava paste confections) in Moniquirá.
