Our theater has a capacity for 1320 viewers and it was built in order to be the perfect place for any kind of shows, from opera and musicals, to concerts, classical ballet, contemporary dance and theater plays. Nowadays, it is recognized to show the world’s best spectacles in Bogotá, and therefore, the theater has positioned itself as one of the best in Latin America, essentially, thus its excellent programming schedule.

The theater has three levels (parterre, first balcony and second balcony) and a space especially designed in such a way that all the viewers have from any place on it an excellent view and sound reception, from the ones that are very close to the stage to the ones which are located in the last tier, 28 meters of distance away. The Major Theater was built thinking not only in public’s comfort, but also in artists’ one.

According to this, it has five dressing and changing rooms, a special room too, in order to provide to the artists proper conditions to carry out warm-ups before presentations. The theater has an orchestra pit of 7,7 by 20,4 meters, with a total capacity for 75 musicians and two movable platforms that allow the orchestra to move up and down. The prop system has 49 bars to move the spotlights, scenography and curtains up and down, 2 illuminating bridges, and a space for additional following lights.
