The Barranquilla Mayor’s Office has designed a new tourist product by the name of Gastronomic Route.
Barranquilla launches its Gastronomic Route
The tour of the different locations that offer the traditional food of the Barranquilla region allows visitors to savor exquisite dishes with the quality and variety to satisfy even the most demanding palates.
The following are among the typical food and beverage establishments that capture the attention of visitors:
Jean Paul Gravelle, the important French chef, has tasted the offerings of this gastronomic route.
All these restaurants not only offer delicious dishes from the Colombian Caribbean cuisine. They also allow tourists to learn about the preparation of fried foods, such as arepe’huevo (egg-stuffed cornmeal patty), empanadas (turnovers), and carimañolas (cassava dough stuffed with meat or fresh cheese); and other delicacies like chorizos, blood sausages, butifarra (a type of sausage), seafood casserole, bass in seafood sauce, pork chops, flank steak, punta gorda (rump roast), and charbroiled chicken.
