You are here:
Cartagena de Indias
Framed by a beautiful bay, Cartagena de Indias is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved ancient cities in America.
Not far from the walled city there is a modern tourist sector, Bocagrande, with wide beaches, hotels, restaurants, and discos.
Yet the best beaches in the area are found on the islands of Rosario, Barú, and San Bernardo.
This small and charming coral archipelago is located only 90 minutes by speedboat or 45 minutes by boat from Cartagena.
Its white beaches and transparent waters invite sun and beach lovers to become immersed in a marvelous landscape.
Enjoy the architecture and the breeze that sneaks in over beaches and through colonial streets.
This is a large island close to Cartagena, with fine, white sand and delightful underwater gardens.
Access to the island is possible by crossing the Bay of Cartagena on a boat or taking a ferry across the Canal del Dique.
A beach on Isla de San Bernardo
This enchanting archipelago is located south of Cartagena. Its beaches are a marvelous spot for lovers of sun, beach, and relaxation.Special caution is required when swimming near the islands; there are seasons and areas with very strong sea currents.
