Sazagua, the best restaurant in the Coffee Region

The Sazagua Restaurant in Pereira was presented with the Best Restaurant in the Coffee Zone Award. La Barra magazine awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

Sazagua, the best restaurant in the Coffee Region

Criterión was selected as Restaurant of the Year. Other awards were given to:

  • Emilia Romagna, best new restaurant;
  • El Cielo, best restaurant in Antioquia;
  • Platillos Voladores, best restaurant in Valle del Cauca;
  • Sazagua, best restaurant in the coffee zone;
  • La Carreta, best restaurant in the departments of Santander and Santander del Norte;
  • La Vitrola, best restaurant on the Atlantic Coast.

During the same ceremony, Harry Sasson was elected as the best chef, and Juan Manuel Barrientos, from El Cielo Restaurant, as the best new chef.

An acknowledgement for a whole life devoted to the culinary arts was presented to gastronomic researcher Master Lácydes Moreno Blanco. The Rausch brothers from Criterion Restaurant and Rausch Pâtissier obtained eight awards; among them, best tablecloth restaurant, best service, and best furnishings.
