This beautiful and attractive boutique hotel is in the center of the walled city, on Calle del Tejadillo (called in the colonial era, when time was less important, “Calle de Nuestra Señora del Bien Aparecido”).
The house was probably built in the 17th century. Local records show that it kept its Spanish-style facade until the early 20th century, when the owner decided to extend it and give a more Republican look.
The result was an imposing edifice of 1,500 sq.m., and over the years suffered one change after another.
In 2006 the building was bought by a firm of architects with an interesting idea for its restoration. “We recovered a great deal – balconies, heights and so on: we cleaned up the design, eliminated some things that were not original and preserved the Republican-style and its details”, says architect Roberto López-Pareja.

The traces of the colonial era were largely preserved, and today we can get quite a good idea of its splendor 150 years ago. The new parts of the design are clean, and with well-conceived, sober lighting – a feature which has earned Wide recognition.
Water and plants are one of the essential themes of the hotel. It adds up to balance, the “feel-good factor” and the warmth that Cartagena projects to the world.
There are 12 impeccably-decorated rooms. Daylight, the serenity and the aromas of Nature are simple – enchanting!
