With over 450 exhibitors and around 25 runways from Colombian and foreign designers, the 20th edition of Colombiamoda will take place in Medellín between July 28 and 30, 2009.

Brazilian Ronaldo Fraga will be the foreign designer invited to the 2009 version of Colombiamoda.

By bringing together in a single location businesspeople, buyers, exhibitors, prominent models, and young promising designers who find a platform for making their talents known, this event has become one of the most important textile fairs in Latin America.

Colombiamoda’s stage has been described as a plural tropical forest on account of the ecological wave to be seen in many of the creations represented by apparel, costume jewelry, footwear, household linens, and leather goods.

Under the premise of synergy between creativity and business and Ecotech´s concept of design with ecological awareness and respect for the environment, Colombia reaches its 20th anniversary at the vanguard of fashion and the textile industry. Aside from the participation of important Colombian designers and outstanding international creators, the event will hold a strategic business round for the purpose of activating the sector by opening new markets.

In 2009, Brazilian Ronaldo Fraga will be the special international guest . And for the second time in the event, Latino América Fashion (LAF) will take place with the presence of eight vanguard designers from various countries on the runway. Outstanding among them will be Andrea Llosa, Nicole Jiménez, Pablo Ramírez, and Lina Cantillo from Perú, Dominican Republic, Argentina, and Colombia, respectively.

As a complement to the fashion shows, Inexmoda, the fair’s organizer, scheduled 17 free conferences, as well as a seminar on Ecological Design of Products by expert European designers.

Likewise, visitors and shoppers will have available free transportation from the main hotels to the Plaza Mayor Convention Center, as well as bilingual business facilitators assigned by the organizers.
