Year after year, Bogota’s Summer Festival consolidates as a very important event due to the diversity of sports, artistic, and cultural performances designed to satisfy the tastes and expectations of all kinds of public.
The Summer Festival is a reflection of the city’s identity and enrolls the large celebrations scheduled throughout the country.
Thanks to Ordinance 070 of 2002 and Law 904 of 2004, the Festival is considered a social, cultural, and sports asset of the city and the country.
According to its organizers and managers, over 150 recreational and sports activities will provide the experience of an utmost free-time fiesta from August 6 to 17.
The following stand out among the scheduled activities: a dance festival for senior citizens, thematic nights at the Sports Palace, a parade of candidates to Miss World Colombia, a classic car and Harley Davidson parade, humor and magic shows, and theater plays. And to add to the merriment, twelve Colombian and four international groups will play music.
The 360 hectares of the Simón Bolívar Metropolitan Park will be the main setting for the Summer Festival. Events will also take place at the Children’s Museum, the Botanical Garden, the Simón Bolívar Water Complex, and the Magical Salitre Park.
