The Bogotá Orchid Association (ABO) by its Spanish acronym, will hold its ninth edition of the National Orchid Exhibit in Bogota’s Botanical Garden from July 2 to 5, 2009.
The exhibit takes place only once a year in the Colombian capital and highlights Colombia’s great advantage in being the third richest country in the world in terms of orchids.
Of the 40,000 orchids described, Colombia has 4,000 spread throughout all its climates, from sea level to the páramos.
Over 3,000 orchids in bloom will be shown, among them, the 16 new orchids discovered by the Bogotá Orchid Association.
