The Seminars of “Benefits of the Cruise Industry” in Cartagena and Santa Marta

A total of 340 people participated in the seminars titled "Benefits of the Cruise Industry" organized by Proexport Colombia and supported by the Cartagena de Indias Tourism Corporation and Port Society as well as the Santa Marta City Hall along with its Tourism Bureau and Port Society.

Tour guides, taxi drivers, tour operators, and officials of shore excursions, as well as immigration officials (of the Administrative Department of Security) and the Tourism Police of Cartagena and Santa Marta gathered in a series of conferences to discuss  cruise tourism, its tendencies, marketing destinations, and itineraries. Other conferences included “The Caribbean as a region” and “Excellence to Customer Service.”

The goal of these conferences was to highlight the advantages offered by this industry as presented by the General Manager of Caribbean Shipping, Clive Forbes; Fritz Pinnock, Executive Director of the Caribbean Maritime Institute; and Julie-Anne Burroughs, Marketing Specialist of Onboard Marketing.

The cruise industry in Colombia has been one of the most dynamic in recent years and it continues to prepare its port cities and services to welcome tourists for an enjoyable and pleasant stay.
