Santa Marta becomes an FCCA Platinum Member

The Santa Marta Port Society became a Platinum member of the FCCA.

Santa Marta has become a popular cruise destination since 2008 with cruise liners, like the Holland America, Thomson Cruises, RCCL, and Windstar Cruises arriving to its ports in 2011 and Princess Cruises, Compagnie du Ponant, and Fred Olsen in 2012.

The city has been preparing for cruise passengers by making improvements in the port and the port facilities and throughout the city renovating historical buildings, parks, pedestrian walkways, and signage to better receive foreign visitors.

The Port and the city Authorities led by the Major Juan Pablo Diaz-Granados have been reaching out to the FCCA and different cruise lines to communicate these improvements and show the commitment of the city which looks forward to provide international tourists with great service and an unforgettable experience while visiting one of Colombia’s beautiful Caribbean cities.

Recently, Santa Marta approved a Law that allows the Casinos on-board the ships to be open while docked at the port.
