The strategy that was launched in April to promote Colombia as an international tourism destination has reached over a million people as a result of the undertakings that have sought to encourage the flow of foreign visitors to the country.
During 2013, around 87 countries in America, Asia and Europe had the opportunity to see the unique and amazing experiences that Proexport Colombia had created to win the hearts of international travelers.
Led by the organization in charge of promoting international tourism toward Colombia, the number of Colombian entrepreneurs doubled and the number of business tourism also tripled.
Proexport Colombia was appointed to host the INT for the second time, where 8,500 visitors from 65 countries in the Americas, Europe and Oceania are expected to gather in Bogota. INT members will enjoy unique experiences designed for corporate international travelers through the “Colombia is Magical Realism” campaign.
In Barcelona, EIBTM - the trade show organizer, awarded the booth and the activation strategy for the work done to promote the country as a destination for corporate events.
The European ship company Thomson Cruises included the port of Cartagena de Indias in its new itinerary across the Caribbean, which will begin operations in the 2014-2015 season. Around 2,000 people are expected to arrive on these ships to the Colombian coast.
